Travelers flying on American Airlines flights are allowed to take along one piece of carry-on baggage along with one personal item. The dimensions of the personal item must not exceed 18 x 14 x 8 inches. It should fit under the seat in front of you. The carry-on baggage should not exceed the dimensions of 22 x 14 x 9 inches. It needs to be small enough to fit in the sizer at the airport. You should also be able to fit it easily in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you. If it doesn’t fit in the sizer at the airport, then you might need to carry the bag as checked-in baggage.
